About Fayetteville Treatment Center
Fayetteville Treatment Center located in Fayetteville, NC provides a State Funded rehab program. Detailed description details:
Metro Treatment of North Carolina Fayetteville Treatment Center provides a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program for opioids.
Metro Treatment of North Carolina Fayetteville Treatment Center uses a combination of medication, counseling, and behavioral therapy to treat opioid addiction.
Medications used in the MAT include: Buprenorphine; Unlike methadone treatment, which must be performed in a highly structured clinic, buprenorphine is the first medication to treat opioid dependency that is permitted to be prescribed or dispensed in physician offices, significantly increasing treatment access.
Methadone; Methadone works by changing how the brain and nervous system respond to pain. It lessens the painful symptoms of opiate withdrawal and blocks the euphoric effects of opiate drugs such as heroin, morphine, and codeine, as well as semi-synthetic opioids like oxycodone and hydrocodone.
Naltrexone; Naltrexone blocks the euphoric and sedative effects of drugs such as heroin, morphine, and codeine. It works differently in the body than buprenorphine and methadone, which activate opioid receptors in the body that suppress cravings. Naltrexone binds and blocks opioid receptors, and is reported to reduce opioid cravings. There is no abuse and diversion potential with naltrexone.
